Three Little Birds

Three Little Birds

Three Little Birds fly away from home

Three Little Birds out all on your own

Six tired wings flutter through the dark.

Will they quench the fire

Or will they set the spark?

Granny’s cage has broken

Little birds fly free

Keep your flock together

Roost in yonder tree

Be watchful of the falcon

Be watchful of the fox

Be watchful of the children

with their slings and rocks.

Keep the good book near you

Read the word it holds

Keep your faith in family

No matter what unfolds

Find wisdom in the letters

Find wisdom in the words

Find wisdom in the secrets

That protect three little birds.

Ch

Hush now little baby

Hush now don’t you cry

If you catch a mockingbird

Release it to the sky.

Twelve claws will defend you

Six bright eyes will see

Three little birds will sing a tune

Made for family.
