Fighting on the Internet (I Haven't Gone Anywhere Yet)

I haven’t gone anywhere yet

I haven’t gone anywhere yet

I haven’t gone anywhere yet

I’m still here

Fighting on the internet

This is a Processing Frustration Song. So, yeah. I mean, who hasn’t fought on the internet in the past 12 months? 😉 This is a Processing Frustration Song. It’s shared fruit from a garden of Opinions over the past few weeks and more.

I dedicate it to my (frustrating) desire to really understand what the hell people are thinking, ADHD, and last but not least, my Scottish heritage. 😉

Also, it includes a scene from Romeo and Juliet, Act 1, Scene 1, between Abraham, Sampson, and Gregory. For Reasons.

It also is the most theatrical piece I’ve created or engineered.

Built in GarageBand, featuring a great surf guitar loop by Rasputin from Looperman.com: looperman-l-1564425-0224783-fast-picked-surf-guitar.wav

Lyrics

I haven’t gone anywhere yet

I haven’t gone anywhere yet

I haven’t gone anywhere yet

I’m still here

Fighting on the internet

Is it so hard to see

Through the repartee

That we basically both agree

It’s not a decree

That’s an inquiry

Why are you typing like a banshee?

You’ve raised the degree

quite staggeringly

Can you write without hyperbole?

I haven’t gone anywhere yet

I haven’t gone anywhere yet

I haven’t gone anywhere yet

I’m still here

Fighting on the internet

The thoughts overflow

This could be a show

Is that a comment or a domino?

The night is so slow

Wind it up and go

Digging holes like a backhoe

I can’t let it go

I’m a Scorpio

Maybe someday I’ll outgrow….NAH

I haven’t gone anywhere yet

I haven’t gone anywhere yet

I haven’t gone anywhere yet

I’m still here

Fighting on the internet

Tempted to succumb

Give into the scrum

Tied my hands, bit my tongue.

Try to overcome

But feeling so numb…

Where did you say you’re from?

Don’t think that I’m dumb

Those points aren’t a sum

I think I just bit my thumb.

<Romeo and Juliet, Act 1, Scene 1>

Abraham. Do you bite your thumb at us, sir?

Sampson. I do bite my thumb, sir.

Abraham. Do you bite your thumb at us, sir?

Sampson. No, sir, I do not bite my thumb at you, sir, but I bite my thumb, sir.

Gregory. Do you quarrel, sir?

I haven’t gone anywhere yet

I haven’t gone anywhere yet

I haven’t gone anywhere yet

I’m still here

Fighting on the internet

We may never meet

You could be so sweet

But you seem compelled to compete

There’s no one to beat

And no tally sheet

There’s no victory or defeat

Think that you’re elite?

Your thoughts are complete?

By now the thread’s obsolete

I haven’t gone anywhere yet

I haven’t gone anywhere yet

I haven’t gone anywhere yet

I’m still here
